The intro on this podcast expresses study of Willie Loomis’ character as well as the grand list of trouble caused in 1795 by Angelique Bouchard. [Script for this episode originally posted on separate webpage 11 February 2012, then 14 February 2012 on fanfiction.net. Podcast version created and uploaded November 2013.]
Our hosts brief us with what is left out of this Re-write, as Victoria Winters returns from 1795 in the NECK of time. Much unfortunate delving into 18th century lack of restrooms, as well as a strange effect the Collinsport coffee seems to have on the Evans abode. Dr. Hoffman deals and receives many wise-cracks, as well as helping out Carolyn.
Meanwhile, even as Wadsworth encourages this risky relationship with the post-kidnapped Maggie, he also takes a moment to confront Barnabas as to his past transgressions over his victims, such as Willie Loomis, making significant comparisons to help him see even practical reasons not to take such abusive action towards people.
Still, Cassandra has a unique way of shooting her cupids arrow at Roger Collins, as he angrily answers the phone in the dead of night.

Please respond to one or more of these inquiries:
1) Milligan & Hecubus explain everything that happens in Dark Shadows as we skip along, so this episode, as with #3, are a weave-in to the original show. Did you find all the catch-up material adequate?
2) Then we relive Victoria’s return from 1795, with the household cracking more jokes. And suddenly Julia Hoffman IS a doctor! (Rather than a historian.) Thoughts on that?
3) Ah yes, the chamber pot issue. Later Victoria recalls seeing George from “The Time Machine” as she came back. Hopefully that music cue was familiar. How’d ya dig it?
4) Oh dear, Wadsworth and Dr. Hoffman aren’t getting along. She likely sees him as competition to healing Barnabas’ troubles. (And considering Dr. Lang, I don’t blame her!) How did you enjoy this scene? (Especially with Peter Bradford’s cameo? LOL)
5) Now the coffee cups part. Maggie & Sam? They seem to be somewhat aloof as to caffeine and what it does. How did you enjoy this scene?
6) Ah, and now we blend the darkness back in as Barnabas reaches his “staring window”. Wadsworth pointing out changes Barnabas could make to how he treats people. What did you pick up there?
7) Carolyn and Julia, now we’re getting some healing done. Pretty good scene with some humour. How did you take to it?
8) Sam and Maggie reach The Old House. There is actually some geographical teaching involved in this scene. Can you tell where? Also we have Wadsworth giving Maggie Evans the earrings now (rather than Willie doing it.)
9) Last but not least, yes… Roger answers the phone and Miss Cleo is on it. Enjoyment on that? Also the Annette Hanshaw song. I felt it was pretty obvious by this point who Barnabas was shooting for.

Here is where it is best to relay your responses or at fanfiction.net (in complete sentences, por favor). ^_^
I just wanted to relay this over from a letter I sent as one pen friend was asking for more information about Peter Bradford since he comes up as a cameo in this episode very quickly. I explained it this way:
“His character was from 1795 and known about due to time travel on the original. He was seen as either a reincarnation or a possession through a man named Jeff Clark in the 1960’s. In the original, Victoria was sure Jeff was Peter returning to her as a love interest. Jeff denied it for many episodes until he came to realize he had memories of Peter Bradford. So in my episode #2 I had Hoffman exclaim “For Pete’s Sake” in exasperation of another thing happening. Since the name Pete came up I decided that was the perfect time for the Peter Bradford character to pop his head in randomly and ask if someone called him, then be told to forget who he was.”
This is another great example of why discussion is so important.
I grew up on Postum. About fifteen years ago, we bought some for our kids totry. they loves it..
Aw yeah! I think you can still get it now. I haven’t ordered any, but I got introduced to it when I was curious about coffee as a little kid and, unlike now, kids weren’t quite so encouraged to drink caffeine. Thanks for the thoughts! ^_^
